$65.00

  • Name: Phra Pirab Boroma Kruu Thepasoon Bandansap
  • Year: B.E. 2550
  • Size: 46.5 cm x 32.5 cm

This Pha Yant has been consecrated in the year B.E. 2550 during the annual wai kruu ceremony of Luang Por Kalong at Wat Kaolam, and was later taken to Wat Suthat Thep Vararam (Bangkok) where it also underwent the ritual ceremony ‘Korb Sian Phra Laks‘.

Phra Pirab (Bhairava in Sanskrit) is a wrathful manifestation of Śiva. Phra Pirab is a powerful transcendental deity that possesses great magical powers, which, if called upon by means of proper worshipping, can provide protection against negative influences (like bad luck, for example) in general. In case of being under influence of black magic, Phra Pirab will protect his loyal and devout followers by backfiring the evil spells on its caster.

The first time of worship should be performed preferably on the first Thursday (evening) of the month. You should prepare the following offerings: 1 bowl of uncooked rice; 1 cup of cooked rice; 1 cup of roasted corn (or popcorn); 5 uncooked eggs; 1 small cup of honey; flowers or garlands (in 3 different colours); light 5 incense sticks and 2 candles.

Then, as with every kata for worshipping, first chant ‘Namo tassa bhagavato arahato sammasambuddhasa’ three times; then chant ‘Kata Phra Ratana Trai‘ (Recollection of the Triple Gem), which goes as follows: ‘Itipi so bhagava arahang sammasambuddho, vijjaranasampanno sugato lokavidu, anuttaro purissadhammasarathi, sattha devamanussanam, Buddho bhagavati’.
(Meaning: ‘Because of reasons such as these that the Blessed One is having attained Nibbana, the Supremely Self-Enlightened One, the perfect embodiment of wisdom and virtue, the Auspicious Path-finder, the Knower of all realms, the Incomparable Tamer of individuals, the Supreme Master of devas and men, the Awakened One who is knowledgeable, self-awakened and blossoming by virtue of the Dhamma, and also one possessing the ability to teach the Dhamma selectively’).

Next, you may begin chanting the kata for inviting Phra Pirab into your home:

After this you should introduce yourself to the deity of Phra Pirab and request him to allow you as his follower (literaly: his son), and that he has mercy for you and loving kindness, as well as protecting you for any specific kind of dangers you might fear.

The normal regular daily chant is much shorter than the one written above (which should be used only the first time you invite Phra Pirab into your home). The kata that can be used for daily worshipping of Phra Pirab goes as follows:
